Overview |

Here we investigate in depth some of the important factors that need to be controlled when making thermosetting powders. To keep products and processes within specification, coating chemists and production staff need to think on their feet recognising and correcting quality issues as they arise. We also discuss the design and layout of a production unit and the economics of the process. |

Each of the modules that CTI offer are listed above. All of the modules are distance learning. The training is brought to students by the British Coatings Federation, the sole UK trade association which has been representing manufacturers of paints, printing inks and wall-coverings for over 100 years, and the European Coatings Journal. Achieving the CTI’s International Certificate in Coatings Technology will add valuable coatings specific knowledge to a student’s skill set, and either make you more attractive to a coatings employer, or enhance their prospects for career progression. Research has shown that students who study and look to progress through personal development are more likely to gain new career prospects, are more confident and motivated, deliver higher levels of customer service and have all round better knowledge. Successful completion of CTI modules can also contribute towards membership of professional organisations such as the Oil & Colour Chemists’ Association (OCCA) and the Society of Dyers & Colourists. There is no formal entry qualifications for students and there is a natural progression within the module structure for development to more advanced subject modules. To achieve the CTI’s International Certificate in Coatings Technology, six modules need to be completed with at least four modules from the chosen level of study (2,3,4, or 5) and two can be from other levels. Students work through modules by downloading the course work material for the study portal. Students then complete a computer marked assessment, written assignments and an end exam for each module. All work is marked by one of our CTI tutors. All instructions and learning plans are contained at the beginning of the modules. Each student is given a personal web page on the CTI learning portal where they can track their progress. Technical Requirements
