    This Course is Aimed at

    IOSH Managing Safely courses are aimed at managers and supervisors who are required to manage risk and resources within their organisation.

    Overview

    Managing Safely may be delivered in a classroom or by e-learning. The course is normally run over a period of 4 to 5 days (32 – 40 hours) delivery time but there are no guided learning hours attributed to this course.

    Programme Content and Key Areas

    The course will help individuals to:

    • Understand the legal, moral and business context for modern health & safety management
    • Recognise, identify and evaluate workplace and work-related risks
    • Identify and implement appropriate risk control measures
    • Identify the relevant technical legislation, guidance and sources of advice for H&S concerns
    • Set performance standards for health & safety and understand how to ensure competencies
    • Develop and implement active monitoring systems, recording and analysing results
    • Play an active part in incident reporting and investigation
    • Play an active role in developing and implementing effective health & safety management systems
    • Understand key concepts and play an active role in basic environmental management

    Learning Outcomes

     On completion of this course, participants will be able to:
    • demonstrate their understanding of their responsibility with respect to the management of the safety at work in terms of people, plant and systems and the consequences of their actions on self, colleagues, the business and the wider environment
